Danjee's Tribute to this Great Nation

Danjee wrote the following and it is being published this month in a magazine. Just thought I would post it in case anyone wants to read it.

As I grow older I see things I didn’t see before and I care about things I didn’t care about before. I have a family that I love more than I ever thought possible. I recognize freedoms that I have enjoyed while growing up. I didn’t truly appreciate or understand how I received these freedoms. As I watch life roll on I notice some of those freedoms going away and things threatening them. I don’t want to lose these blessing of freedom and liberty for my kids to enjoy. I think most of us have enjoyed these freedoms for so long that we don’t know what to do to keep them safe or that they may be slipping away. I am also worried about the “progressive” direction my country seems to be heading. I decided to send out a reminder to those I know and care about. I have not always celebrated our Independence Day properly. I do believe that we must remember what brought us this freedom in order to conserve it. I received an email this morning and it kind of hit me. I know we all receive emails every day about the wars and our Military. We almost forget sometimes that there really are people out there fighting right now to stop the terrorist organizations that have scarred our country. If for just a moment I can believe that someone will read this email and stop there busy life to thank God and country for the freedoms they have, than I am ,at least, doing something. If I can assist one person to truly honor God and Country on the 4th of July, I am doing something. If you have a second and you really feel like a patriotic American then read on. I know many people who have served our country and I want them to know that I appreciate them. Those of you that have served and receive this email. THANK YOU!

There are a lot of people who call themselves Americans and Enjoy the freedom we share and don’t care about anything except the time off when the sacred 4th of July comes around. Those of us who love this country need to stand up and represent those who gave us the freedom that is being jeopardized right now. My heart fills to capacity with thankfulness to those who died and gave me, and the ones I love, freedom. I for one say thank you to my brothers and sisters of the military today and yesterday. Most of all I give thanks to God. Please “stand in your place and lift”!( Dieter F. Uchtdorf) We all have a job to do, in order to keep this nation a place of peace and freedom. Let’s start by truly honoring our God and our Country this 4th of July. This freedom did not come easy and we won’t keep it easily.
